Surrender every area of your life to Jesus and put him in the center.
How do I even begin to share about my weekend at Women’s Encounter. It was exactly what I needed at this time of my life and I’m forever grateful I dropped everything for three days and went to this conference. Thank you to my friend Autumn who invited me to go. You are so sweet to think of me and I appreciate you so much. I also enjoyed meeting all the ladies in our group. You guys are now family.
I recommend everyone go to this event. (There is another encounter for men too). It was truly an experience to get closer to God and to remind ourselves to make him the CENTER of our lives. Anyone who follows me knows I’m busy, I have a lot going on, and I have many responsibilities. No matter what your life looks like put God first and everything will fall into place. If there is a void in your life that you can’t seem to fix, “Let Go and Let God”.
We got to hear from so many real women who have been through it all…
- Broken Marriages
- Struggling with illness
- Abuse
- Addiction
- Financial Struggles
- Regret
- Struggling with being a Godly Wife and Mother
- Dealing with Unforgiveness
No matter what your struggle is or what your past looks like, there is only one way to fix it and that is giving it to God and asking for forgiveness. He will help give you peace and strength to get through the rough times no matter how bad it is.
Before my weekend at Encounter I personally was struggling with unforgiveness. Unforgiveness can cause health issues, depression, stress and hate toward someone or some thing. Forgiveness is a choice, it’s not an easy one and it doesn’t mean that you’re ok with what the person did, but relying on God is the only way you can get true forgiveness.
As I mentioned I tend to try to control my own life, but I also try to control others. Sometimes it’s so hard for me to understand why certain people make poor decisions. I learned that no matter what that person did to hurt you, God still loves them and God forgives them with out any hesitation. Even if they know it or not. We can’t ask God to forgive ourselves, if we can’t forgive others. God reaches out to us with open hands and says… Let Go. Why are we not reaching out to him more often?
Ephesians 4:31-32
“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor and slander be put away from you, along with every kind of spite-fullness, and verbal abuse. Be kind and helpful to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.
At the end of the weekend, I thought the whole time that I was just suppose to forgive this person in my life, but come to find out, I also needed to forgive myself too. It’s so hard to admit that “I” “Myself” did wrong, when we always want to blame another person. After this weekend, I was able to nail forgiveness to the cross and boy did it feel good.
Loved this video they shared with us!
