Back when Jared and I were dating, we would go over to his parents house for Sunday night dinners. Jared’s dad would make his amazing chili around this time of year! I finally got the recipe from him and now make it at least once a month in the Fall and Winter months. I’m excited to share this recipe with you! Keep in mind we use 2 lbs of ground turkey instead of the hamburger and sausage and it still taste great!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb hamburger (we make ours with turkey)
- 1 lb sausage (we make ours with turkey)
- 1 medium white onion (chopped)
- 2 cans rotel chili fixins
- 4 cans chili beans
- 1/4 cup of pedro lopez chili powder
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 40 oz of V-8 Juice (add 48 oz if you want more runny)
- shredded cheese
- fritos
Directions:
- brown meat and onion until cooked
- drain fat
- combine rest of ingredients
- bring to boil
- reduce heat
- simmer
- ready to serve
